World Read Aloud Day Brings the Power of Reading and Community Alive Across the District

Yesterday, the Greenburgh CSD was proud to celebrate World Read Aloud Day, and what a fantastic time it was to read together as a District and community!

This marks the first year of WRAD as a district-wide collaboration. Organized by GCSD K-12 Literacy Coach Lori D’Andrea, students at ECP, LFJ, HES, and RJB had the pleasure of reading alongside over 100 volunteers from our community, including administrators, Woodlands students and teachers, local officials, Greenburgh Police Officers, GPL staff, and 15 student members of the WMHS My Brother’s Keeper and My Sister’s Keeper programs.

“The response from the school and Greenburgh community was overwhelming,” shared Ms. D’Andrea. “We have a uniquely connected community, and today’s shared joy of reading made it even more special.”

Thank you to everyone who made this a special and memorable day as we share the love of  reading with students. To learn more and view photos, visit the WRAD web page: https://sites.google.com/greenburghcd.org/WRAD
