Greenburgh Central School District Superintendent Dr. Linda J. Iverson has received the distinct honor of being selected by New York State Assemblymember MaryJane Shimsky to be recognized at an upcoming event sponsored by the NY State Legislative Women's Caucus. The event celebrates Women’s History Month with the theme, Moving Forward Together! Women Educating and Inspiring Generations. It celebrates the powerful influence of women who dedicate themselves to education, advocacy, and leadership. (The event will be held in Albany just after Women’s History Month on April 7.) Assemblymember Shimsky has a special connection to the District as her swearing-in ceremony was held last month at Woodlands Middle High School, where Woodlands students led the oath ceremony.
“I am humbled by Assemblymember Shimsky’s invitation to be honored at this event,” said Dr. Iverson. “This recognition underscores the importance of women in education and the vital role they play in inspiring future generations. It is a poignant reminder to women educators everywhere, and I’m particularly proud of the message of empowerment that it sends to our students.”
The Legislative Women's Caucus is a bipartisan, bicameral organization of women elected to the New York State Legislature. Founded in 1983, the Caucus works closely with women's organizations, state agencies, the Governor, and others to advocate for programs and services that benefit women, children, and families. Dr. Iverson will accept this recognition in Albany at the Harold L. Joyce Albany County Building.
