Dear Greenburgh Community:

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year. We enter this year with a clear and bold path forward as we embark on the second year of the district’s strategic plan with goals established in five areas: Student Success; Safe and Healthy Climate and Culture; Infrastructure; Communication and Engagement; and Establishing a Premier Workforce. 

Significant and measurable achievements have been obtained against each goal, notably in student performance in literacy and math, as can be seen here. What’s more, the curriculum in our K-12 International Baccalaureate (IB) program has fostered the development of life skills and a global view on questions and issues. Along with the IB Learner Profiles, we have a structured Social and Emotional Learning program that is also embedded in the day-to-day classroom structure. 

The GCSD celebrates the diversity of our student body, workforce, and the community at large. This diversity extends well beyond race and ethnicity and we are proud to be a district that fosters a sense of belonging for all. This year we will formalize our work in DEI and build upon this important commitment as a District initiative. 

I appreciate the ongoing dedication of our faculty and staff who create pathways of achievement for all students, as well as the collaboration with and support of the community. I look forward to our continued work together as we strive towards continued progress and success.

Estimada comunidad de Greenburgh:

Bienvenidos al año escolar 2024-25. Comenzamos este año con un camino claro y audaz hacia adelante mientras nos embarcamos en el segundo año del plan estratégico del distrito con objetivos establecidos en cinco áreas: Éxito estudiantil; Clima y cultura seguros y saludables; Infraestructura; Comunicación y participación; y Establecer una fuerza laboral de primer nivel.

Se han obtenido logros significativos y mensurables en relación con cada objetivo, en particular en el desempeño estudiantil en alfabetización y matemáticas, como se puede ver aquí. Además, el plan de estudios de nuestro programa de Bachillerato Internacional (IB) K-12 ha fomentado el desarrollo de habilidades para la vida y una visión global sobre preguntas y problemas. Junto con los perfiles de aprendizaje del IB, tenemos un programa estructurado de aprendizaje social y emocional que también está integrado en la estructura diaria del aula.

El GCSD celebra la diversidad de nuestro cuerpo estudiantil, fuerza laboral y la comunidad en general. Esta diversidad se extiende mucho más allá de la raza y la etnia, y estamos orgullosos de ser un distrito que fomenta un sentido de pertenencia para todos. Este año, formalizaremos nuestro trabajo en DEI y nos basaremos en este importante compromiso como una iniciativa del Distrito.

Aprecio la dedicación constante de nuestro cuerpo docente y personal que crean caminos de logro para todos los estudiantes, así como la colaboración y el apoyo de la comunidad. Espero que sigamos trabajando juntos mientras nos esforzamos por lograr un progreso y un éxito continuos.
