NOTICE OF SPECIAL DISTRICT MEETING OF THE GREENBURGH CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT, IN THE COUNTY OF WESTCHESTER, NEW YORK

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Education of the Greenburgh Central School District, in the County of Westchester, New York, has adopted a resolution on November 15, 2022, authorizing a Special District Meeting of the qualified voters of said School District to be held on

Tuesday, January 17, 2023

from 7:00 o’clock A.M. to 9:00 o’clock P.M. (Prevailing Time) in the Gymnasium of the Woodlands Middle/High School, located at 475 West Hartsdale Avenue, Hartsdale, New York for the purpose of voting upon the following Proposition:

a. That in order for the District to receive ten per centum (10%) of building aid from the State of New York, the Board of Education of the District, is hereby authorized to implement energy efficiency improvements at all District buildings and facilities, including, but not limited to, boiler, burner and ceiling replacements; heating, ventilation, lighting and energy management system upgrades and/or replacements; and renewable energy-photovoltaic electric generation, co-generation, and other appropriate energy conservation measures as authorized by Article 9 of the Energy Law and Section 155.20 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, substantially in accordance with an energy assessment audit prepared by ConEdison Solutions on behalf of the District, which energy assessment audit is on file and available for public inspection at the office of the District Clerk; all of the foregoing to include the original furnishings, equipment, machinery, apparatus and ancillary or related site, demolition and other work required in connection therewith; and to expend therefor, including preliminary costs and costs incidental thereto and to the financing thereof, an amount not to exceed the estimated total cost of $21,000,000, which is to be paid for from energy cost savings, rebates and grants with no resulting cost to the taxpayers of the District; and

b. That the District shall be authorized to enter into one or more energy performance contracts and/or installment purchase contracts in connection with such energy efficiency improvements. Such Proposition shall appear on the ballots used for voting at said Special District Meeting in substantially the foregoing form. 

The voting will be conducted by ballot on voting machines or paper ballot as provided in the Education Law and the polls will remain open from 7:00 o’clock A.M. to 9:00 o’clock P.M. (Prevailing Time) and as much longer as may be necessary to enable the voters then present to cast their ballots.
