Energy Performance Contract Vote Flyer

An Energy Performance Contract (EPC) was negotiated with Con Edison Solutions to make our facilities more energy efficient. The EPC is a budget-neutral approach to make building improvements that reduce energy and increase operational efficiency.

This means that there will be NO additional cost to the taxpayer.

Why the vote matters

This vote is not to approve the EPC. Rather it is to request the New York State Department of Education to provide Greenburgh Central School District 10% in Building Aid as part of the EPC.  This translates into approximately $ 2M in State aid from the State to upgrade our facilities.

What is in the EPC?

The EPC is valued at $21M in improvements for the School District. These improvements include: 

•  Upgrading interior and exterior lighting
•  Installing solar panels on the roof of Highview Elementary School
•  Installing a carport solar system and Battery Energy Storage System at the Woodlands MHS
•  Installing direct digital controls and new energy management systems.
•  Installing or reinstating natural gas services.
•  Improving air handlers, replacing and rebuilding rooftop units for fresh air intake.
•  Installing new water heaters in all schools and new boilers in some schools.
•  Installing software and time controls to District computers and air conditioning units.

How is the EPC funded?

The project will be funded by energy savings on utility bills, rebates from NYS Energy Research and Development Authority, and state aid from New York State.

In the legally binding agreement, Con Edison Solutions guarantees the school district will save money via the EPC. If the School district does not save what is predicted, Con Edison Solutions will be responsible to reimburse the district for any difference in cost savings.

When will the vote happen?

The School District will hold a vote on Tuesday, January 17th at the Woodlands MHS Gymnasium. Polls will be open from 7 AM until 9 PM.

Se negoció un contrato de rendimiento energético (EPC) con Con Edison Solutions para hacer que nuestro instalaciones más eficientes energéticamente. El EPC es un enfoque de presupuesto neutral para hacer que la construcción mejoras que reducen la energía y aumentan la eficiencia operativa.

Esto significa que NO habrá costo adicional para el contribuyente.

¿Por qué importa el voto?

Este voto no es para aprobar el EPC. Más bien es solicitar al Departamento de Estado de Nueva York Educación para proporcionar al Distrito Escolar Central de Greenburgh 10% en ayuda para la construcción como parte de la EPC. Mejorar la iluminación interior y exterior

• Instalación de paneles solares en el techo de la Escuela Primaria Highview
• Instalación de un sistema solar de cochera y un sistema de almacenamiento de energía de batería en Woodlands MHS
• Instalación de controles digitales directos y nuevos sistemas de gestión de energía.
• Instalación o reposición de servicios de gas natural.
• Mejorar los controladores de aire, reemplazar y reconstruir las unidades de techo para la entrada de aire fresco.
• Instalación de nuevos calentadores de agua en todas las escuelas y nuevas calderas en algunas escuelas.
• Instalación de software y controles de tiempo a las computadoras del Distrito y unidades de aire acondicionado.

¿Cómo se financia el EPC?

El proyecto se financiará con ahorros de energía en las facturas de servicios públicos, reembolsos de la Autoridad de Investigación y Desarrollo de Energía del Estado de Nal del Estado de Nueva York.

En el acuerdo legalmente vinculante, Con Edison Solutions garantiza que el distrito escolar ahorre dinero a través del EPC. Si el distrito escolar no guarda lo previsto, Con Edison Solutions será responsable de reembolsar al distrito cualquier diferencia en el ahorro de costos.

¿Cuándo sucederá la votación?

Votación el Martes 17 de Enero en el gimnasio Woodlands MHS. Las urnas estarán abiertas desde las 7 am hasta las 9 pm.
